Betaine - Sugar-Beet Derived

Origin

Betaine is a naturally occurring compound found in plants, particularly sugar beet. The form used by AREUM is Anhydrous Betaine, a purified, water-soluble ingredient derived from sugar beet. It functions as an osmolyte, helping cells maintain moisture balance under changing environmental conditions.

How AREUM Uses It

We use Anhydrous Betaine in Serein Hydrating Mist, alongside plant-derived sugar humectants, Pentylene Glycol and organic Centella Asiatica extract.

It helps attract and retain moisture, leaving the skin feeling soft, hydrated and comfortable without adding heaviness or stickiness.

Why AREUM Chose Betaine

We chose Betaine for its ability to support moisture balance and skin comfort, particularly in dry environments such as air-conditioned spaces and aircraft cabins.

Its plant-derived origin, gentle properties and lightweight character make it a considered addition to Serein, supporting lasting hydration while preserving the mist's refreshing feel.
