CoEnzyme Q10

Origin

Coenzyme Q10, also known as CoQ10 or ubiquinone, is a vitamin-like compound found naturally throughout the human body. It is present within cells, where it plays an important role in cellular energy production, while also acting as an antioxidant.

How AREUM Uses It

We use Coenzyme Q10 in Guardian Antioxidant Serum, where it works alongside resveratrol, green tea, licorice root, niacinamide and other hydrating and antioxidant ingredients.

It brings concentrated antioxidant care to Guardian while the glycerine-based delivery system integrates naturally into the serum’s water phase. This allows the formula to remain lightweight, fresh and entirely oil-free.

Why AREUM Chose Coenzyme Q10

We chose Coenzyme Q10 because it is naturally present in the skin and plays an important role in supporting its resilience and vitality. As the skin is constantly exposed to environmental stressors such as UV exposure and pollution, Coenzyme Q10 helps support its antioxidant defences by assisting in the neutralisation of free radicals that can contribute to visible signs of ageing.

To ensure it fits seamlessly within Guardian’s lightweight, water-based formula, we selected a glycerine-based, water-dispersible form of Coenzyme Q10. This allows the ingredient to deliver its benefits without adding oil or heaviness, while working in synergy with other antioxidants and botanical extracts to provide layered, everyday protection.
