Glycerine – Organic, Palm-Free

Origin

Organic Palm-Free Glycerine is a clear, colourless and naturally viscous liquid derived from organically grown flaxseeds. During the processing of flaxseed oil, the glycerine is separated from its fatty acids and carefully purified.

The glycerine used by AREUM is certified organic and sourced entirely from flaxseed rather than palm oil.

How AREUM Uses It

We use Organic Palm-Free Glycerine in Guardian Antioxidant Serum as part of its hydrating water phase.

Glycerine acts as a humectant, binding water within the formula and helping draw moisture towards the outer layers of the skin. It works alongside aloe vera, sodium PCA, hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5 to create layered hydration rather than relying on a single moisturising ingredient.

It also contributes to Guardian’s smooth application and comfortable skin feel, helping the serum spread evenly and remain light enough to layer beneath facial oils and moisturisers.

Why AREUM Chose Organic Palm-Free Glycerine

We chose glycerine because it is a well-established, highly effective humectant in skincare. Although it is often less highlighted than newer hydrating actives, it delivers consistent moisture support and performs especially well in a balanced, water-based serum. Research supports its ability to improve skin hydration and help maintain moisture levels.

We specifically use a certified organic, palm-free glycerine derived from flaxseed. While glycerine can be sourced from a range of vegetable oils, including palm, selecting a clearly identified non-palm source improves transparency around origin and aligns with AREUM’s considered approach to ingredient sourcing. In Guardian, glycerine also works alongside other humectants with different molecular behaviours, helping to provide immediate hydration while supporting long-term skin comfort and softness.
