Marula Oil – Organic

Origin

Marula Oil is obtained from the kernels found within the fruit stones of Sclerocarya birrea, a tree native to southern Africa. The certified organic oil used by AREUM is extracted from these kernels to produce a light, silky botanical oil.

Its fatty acid composition is naturally dominated by oleic acid, alongside smaller amounts of palmitic, linoleic and palmitoleic acids. This oleic-rich profile gives Marula Oil its softening qualities, fluid texture and natural resistance to oxidation.

How AREUM Uses It

We use Organic Marula Oil in Petal Lip Oil, where it works alongside castor, camellia, jojoba, macadamia and vitamin E.

Its fine, silky texture helps soften the richness of Castor Oil and gives Petal a smoother, more fluid glide. It contributes nourishment without making the formulation feel excessively thick, helping the lips feel conditioned and comfortably enveloped.

Why AREUM Chose Marula Oil

We chose Marula Oil for its balance of richness, lightness and stability. Its oleic-rich composition provides lasting emollient care, helping soften dry, rough-feeling lips and support a more supple surface. At the same time, its elegant texture helps Petal feel silky rather than heavy or overly sticky.

Marula Oil also complements the other botanical oils within Petal. Castor Oil provides cushion and staying power, while Marula Oil introduces fluidity and refinement, helping the formulation spread evenly and leave the lips with a smooth, naturally luminous finish.
