Macadamia Oil – Organic
Origin
Macadamia Oil is obtained from the nuts of Macadamia integrifolia, an evergreen tree native to Australia. The certified organic oil used by AREUM is cold pressed before being refined to create a pale, softly textured oil with a neutral aroma and consistent finish.
It is naturally rich in oleic acid and contains a notable amount of palmitoleic acid, a fatty acid also found within the skin’s surface lipids. Together, these give Macadamia Oil its nourishing, softening and moisture-supporting qualities.
How AREUM Uses It
We use Organic Macadamia Oil in Petal Lip Oil, where it works alongside castor, camellia, jojoba, marula and vitamin E.
It brings supple nourishment and a silky, fluid quality to the formulation, helping balance the richness and staying power of Castor Oil. It allows Petal to glide smoothly across the lips while leaving them feeling softened and conditioned rather than heavily coated.
Why AREUM Chose Macadamia Oil
We chose Macadamia Oil for the balance it offers between richness and refinement. Its oleic and palmitoleic acids help replenish and soften dry-feeling lips, while its light, silky texture prevents the formulation from feeling overly thick or sticky.
Its emollient qualities help form a comfortable layer over the lips, supporting moisture retention and flexibility. At the same time, its refined texture and gentle absorption give Petal a smooth, polished finish that feels nourishing without becoming greasy.
As an Australian native botanical, Macadamia Oil also brings a meaningful sense of place to Petal, connecting the formulation to the landscape in which AREUM is created.
