Rosehip Oil – Organic
Origin
Rosehip Oil is obtained from the ripe orange-red fruits, known as hips, of Rosa canina, a wild flowering rose belonging to the Rosaceae family. The certified organic virgin oil used by AREUM retains its naturally warm golden to deep orange colour, which reflects the presence of carotenoid pigments within the oil.
Its composition is naturally rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, particularly linoleic and alpha-linolenic acids, alongside oleic acid. It also contains naturally occurring carotenoids, tocopherols, phytosterols and other antioxidant plant compounds.
How AREUM Uses It
We use Organic Rosehip Oil in Grace Facial Oil, where it works alongside olive-derived squalane, jojoba, meadowfoam, camellia and sea buckthorn oils.
Rosehip Oil brings a more active, restorative character to the formula. Its essential fatty acids and naturally occurring antioxidants complement Grace’s nourishing oils, helping care for skin that feels dry, less supple or visibly changed by time and environmental exposure.
Why AREUM Chose Rosa Canina Rosehip Oil
We chose the Rosa canina variety because it is one of the most extensively studied forms of rosehip oil and is naturally rich in carotenoids, tocopherols and essential fatty acids. Its composition allows it to offer more than surface softness, supporting the appearance of tone, texture and resilience while still feeling light and elegant on the skin.
Rosehip Oil is naturally more delicate and susceptible to oxidation than highly stable oils such as jojoba and meadowfoam. Within Grace, it is intentionally balanced with these more stable oils and vitamin E, allowing us to include its valuable skin benefits while supporting the integrity and sensory refinement of the complete formula.
